Inspiring hope for Vancouver Island's children with life-threatening conditions

A Home Away From Home

Jeneece

Help Fill A Dream first met Jeneece when she was just three years old. Jeneece had been diagnosed with neurofibromatosis, a disease that causes tumors to grown on almost every nerve root coming out from her spine. Over the last 13 years, Jeneece has undergone countless surgeries and chemotherapy to treat her tumors.

Over the years, Jeneece has become near and dear to the hearts of our team at Help Fill A Dream. We were so pleased to have helped Jeneece by fulfilling her dream for a trip to Disneyland at the age of three. We next met Jeneece at seven years old with the gift of a recumbent tricycle and then again when she was thirteen with a gift of a therapeutic swim with dolphins in Florida.

Now sixteen, Jeneece has raised over $1.5 million dollars to help other children with special needs. You could say her dream has changed. Jeneece now dreams of building a home where families of sick children could stay while their child undergoes treatment in Victoria. Her home will be called Jeneece Place and it will be a home away from home for families in dire need of a little comfort and respite.
